Golfing In The Smoky Mountains
The Great Smoky Mountains are the backdrop to numerous area golf courses.
Bring your clubs when you come to the area. Several courses are within a 10 to 20 minute drive of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville and they are absolutely gorgeous and quite challenging. If you don’t mind another 30 minute drive, the possibilities are numerous with even more courses in Knoxville, TN.
Two local favorite courses in the Pigeon Forge are:
“Eagle’s Landing ” 18-hole course in Sevierville, Tennessee is 6,919 yards of golf from the longest tees and pars at 72 . The course opened in 1994 and it is very well established. It is currently being expanded. It’s a very challenging course and one you’ll want on you “have played’ list. The fourth hole will challenge the best of players (par 3).
The original 18 holes, designed by Dan Maples, meanders its way through valleys, hills, and woodlands. Then, in 1991, nine more holes were added with the same characteristics of the original design. this is a beautiful course in a country setting. Gorgeous!
